Race to Riches is an interactive museum exhibit that brings the fast-paced energy of a retro game show to life through playful design, physical construction, and dynamic motion graphics.
My Role
I led the design and fabrication of the physical structure, ensuring an intuitive layout for players and spectators while meeting safety and durability standards for a high-traffic space. Drawing inspiration from vintage game shows and sci-fi sets, I used vibrant colors, modular panels, and custom signage to create an immersive, competitive atmosphere. I also mapped out the user experience to position screens, buzzers, and controls for maximum engagement.
As Lead Animator, I developed a cohesive visual identity that connected the physical exhibit with the digital experience. I created all motion graphics — from animated titles and trivia prompts to transitions and celebratory moments — and collaborated with developers to sync them seamlessly with gameplay and Arduino-controlled effects. Every animation was crafted to boost energy and keep players immersed from start to finish.

Take Aways
This project strengthened my skills in spatial design, fabrication, and experiential animation. It reinforced the importance of integrating physical and digital elements seamlessly — and showed me how intentional motion graphics can transform an interactive environment into an unforgettable experience. Just as importantly, it taught me how to communicate ideas clearly, give and receive constructive feedback, and adapt my own creative process within a multidisciplinary team. From coordinating with developers and builders to aligning visual elements with technical constraints, I learned how thoughtful collaboration is key to delivering a cohesive, engaging final product.
